SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's outdoor track and field team picked up multiple victories and numerous Top-10 finishes on Saturday at the Jim Taylor Duals hosted by Susquehanna University.
Sprints
Darian Crim earned himself a Top-10 finish in the 100m as his 10.87 was good for ninth.
William O'Connor clocked in at 11.41 for 29th, followed by
Matthew Greenley with a 12.05 (51st). With ten extra meters added on and hurdles placed on the track Brendan Regan hit the line in 18.30 for 17th, while
Josh Penny stopped the timer at 21.29 (21st).
Ian Gormley just missed the Top-20 for the 200m taking up 23rd thanks to a 22.87, followed by O'Connor (34th - 23.15), Greenley (64th - 24.67) and
Sean Harris (67th - 24.83).
Gormley grabbed the Devils second Top-10 finish of the day by claiming ninth for the 400m with a 51.29, while Harris nabbed 28th (55.38). A trio of Red and White athletes took to the track for the 400m hurdles with Regan and
Nathan Caldwell occupying eighth (1:00.93) and ninth (1:01.48).
Benjamin Dench rounded out the Top-20 by hitting the line in 1:07.89.
Distance
The 800m saw
Trevor Richwine best a 51-competitor field with a time of 1:53.01, while
Jeremy Sallade just missed a podium spot in fourth at 1:56.84.
Owen Buroker (11th - 2:01.63),
Benjamin Moseman (16th - 2:02.92), Crim (21st - 2:04.15),
Amos Liles (23rd - 2:04.43),
Tyler Erdmann (29th - 2:08.50), Feldman (39th - 2:13.35) and
Max Collins (41st - 2:14.72) rounded out the competing Dickinson athletes.
Dickinson sent another large group to the track for the 1500m with Moseman leading the crew in seventh place at 4:11.09, followed by Liles (22nd - 4:26.89), Erdmann (23rd - 4:27.88),
Romario Cruz (26th - 4:28.80), Collins (34th - 4:38.42), Feldman (40th - 4:47.41),
Matthew Colden (41st - 4:47.57) and
Andrew Edwards (48th - 5:11.85).Â
The Red and White held down second and third in the 3000m steeplechase thanks to Caldwell (9:56.99) and
Atticus Fair (10:18.02).
William Kane finished out the Top-5 with a 10:44.31.
The Top-5 for 5000m was littered with Devils as
Brock Overlander won the event by hitting the line in 15:24.31. He was joined in the Top-5 by
Luke Knestout (2nd - 15:32.77),
Mason Macek (4th - 16:02.03) and
Matthew Dietrick (5th - 16:06.69). Eddie Liszka also earned a Top-10 spot nabbing ninth at 16:37.36.
Relays
The Red and White sent two teams out for the 4x400m with the unit of Crim, Gormley, Richwine and Sallade claiming third at 3:19.37, while Buroker, Dench, Harris and Regan occupied eighth (3:29.27).
Field
At the throwing area, Penny took 35th for the shot put with a toss of 7.34m. In the hammer throw,
Oliver Stroka claimed the final spot on the podium with a mark of 50.95m, while grabbing 20th during the discus at 31.83m.
Damon Buchanan made his first appearance of the meet count by placing fifth in the javelin thanks to a heave of 54.21m, followed by Penny in 37th (30.61m).  Â
At the jumping area,
Ayman Arkoukou and Penny competed in the long jump seizing 25th (5.61m) and 29th (5.26m) respectively. Arkoukou also did battle for the triple jump landing at 11.64m for 18th.
Next on the Track
The Red Devils return to action next Friday and Saturday when they head to Allentown, Pennsylvania to compete in the Muhlenberg College Invite. The action begins at 4pm on Friday, before resuming at 11am Saturday at Scotty Wood Stadium.
