ABBOTTSTOWN, Pa. - The Dickinson men's golf team shaved six strokes off their team score from Saturday dropping from 310 to 304 on day two of the McDaniel College Spring Invite at The Bridges Golf Club. Unfortunately, for the Red and White it was only good enough to give them fourth in a large and competitive field of 17 teams.
The Devils were led on Sunday by
William Griffith who shaved seven strokes going from 79 to an even par 72 on the 6713-yard course to finish seventh.
Collin McMahon-Shea carded a 75 adding one shot to yesterday's 74, but still was good enough to land in fourth.
Jake Goldberg and
Ryan Wheeler grabbed a 26th-place tie following scores of 78 and 79 respectively.
Carl Williams added an 85 on Sunday, while
Vincent Carr playing as an individual posted an 82.
Gettysburg's Daniel Suter shot identical 73s to end the tournament with a winning score of 146 (+2). He and the rest of his Bullet teammates took the team title by carding a combined 601. They were joined in the Top-10 by: Franklin & Marshall (610), York (Pa.) (613), Dickinson (614), Farmingdale State (621), SUNY Delhi (625), McDaniel (628), St. John Fisher and Swarthmore (629) and Stevens (631).
Next on the Tee
The Red and White have no time to think about the past two days as they begin the two day Alvernia University Invite tomorrow morning at Ledgerock Golf Course in Reading, Pennsylvania.
