NORMAN, Okla. - Dickinson men's golfer
Collin McMahon-Shea collected another impressive accolade to his ever growing list on Thursday as he was chosen as a Second Team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
McMahon-Shea, the native of Lexington, Massachusetts, earned the recognition after finishing 12th at the NCAA Division III National Championship in mid-May posting a combined score of 284, including a phenomenal seven-under 65 on the last day of the event. In addition to a strong outing at the national championship he claimed the individual title at the Centennial Conference Championship with a record-setting score of 208 (-8), the senior holds a scoring average of 70.7 after 25 rounds of competitive golf which has him positioned the top player in Region III as well as the 15th-ranked player in all of Division III. During the course of the season McMahon-Shea has won three other tournaments (Dickinson Fall Invite, Battle at Bulle Rock and Swarthmore Invite) and and placed among the top three four different times.
The Red Devils open up the post McMahon-Shea era on Sunday, September 6th with Day One of the Dickinson College Invitational at Carlisle Barracks Golf Club.
