Collin McMahon-Shea completed rounds one and two of the tournament on Tuesday afternoon at Mission Resort and Club.
Round One
On Tuesday, he began the event on the 6820-yard, par 71, Las Colinas course he fired a one-under 70 thanks to three birdies and 13 pars. He posted two of the birdies in the first nine holes notching a three on the 445-yard par four third hole. He then duplicated that performance on the 418-yard eighth. The 205-yard par three eleventh hole saw his card a deuce, before paring out the rest of the way.
Round Two
Wednesday, he opened up his round on the back nine of the 6778-yard, par 72 El Campeon course. After starting off with two pars, he followed with a bogey on the 205-yard, par three prior to ripping off five straight pars. In the final hole of the nine he recorded a three during the par four 437-yard hole to close out with an even par 37. His last nine got off to a good start with a par on the first, before a birdie at the 176-yard, par three second. However, two consecutive bogies were answered by five straight pars to end at 36 wrapping up on a one-over 73 leaving him even for the tournament.
As of the writing of this article McMahon-Shea was still awaiting word as to whether or not he will make the cut to participate in the remaining two rounds of the tournament. He currently sits six strokes back of Ryan Dunn from Oglethorpe University who will enter Thursday's third round at six under par (137). Â Â
