UPPERCO, Md. - The Dickinson men's golf team got back to competitive action on Monday afternoon looking to continue their strong spring campaign as they took part in the Stevenson University Invite at Piney Branch Country Club. The Red and White sent two teams out on the course with "A" squad claiming the top place with a team mark of 297, while the "B" unit combined for 311 to grab fourth.
"A" Team
The duo of
William Griffith and
Collin McMahon-Shea paced the side with identical one-over 72s to tie for second on the 6493-yard, par 71 course.
Carl Williams was next in the scoring order with a 76 to land in a five-way deadlock for tenth.
Ryan Wheeler was one stroke off his pace ending the day on 77, while
Colin Vineberg shot 79.Â
"B" Team
Erik Schneider was the top athlete for the unit carding a four-over 75, followed one shot off that by Vicent Carr at 76.
Will Carkhuff wrapped up the day on 79 to grab a tie for 22nd. The other two members of the team
Jake Goldberg and
Chan Yoon fired 81 and 86 respectively.
Scores
McDaniel College's Jack Manfre took home the individual title thanks to a three-under 68. However, the team crown was seized by Dickinson "A" with a 297. The remainder of the team standings went: Stevenson (302), Catholic (306), Dickinson "B" (311), McDaniel (313), Goucher (315), Stevenson "B" (319), Albright (319), Susquehanna (327), Catholic "B" (332), Goucher "B" (339) and Washington (Md.) (343).
