Inside the Game
  • After a scoreless top of the first put up by McDaniel starter Amy Anderson, her team came to bat in the home-half. An error allowed leadoff batter Ally McBride to reach, before three players later Caitlin Boden roped a double to left-center off of Erin McMahon making it 1-0 through one.
  • Both pitchers would set aside the opposition in order during the second sending things to the third at 1-0. The top-half saw Jane Lloyd leg out an infield with one away, but be erased on a fielder's choice hit into by Abby Kohan. However, she would come around to score when Eden Blanker pounded a two-bagger to left. Unfortunately, for Dickinson, the Green Terror answered back with a trio of singles in the home-half resulting in the go-ahead run crossing the dish (2-1).
  • The Red and White did grab their first lead of the day during the fifth as Laia Gwathmey reached on an error with one down. Then, a miscue by the center fielder let Gwathmey score. Blanker then stepped into the box and smoked a double into right-center for a 3-2 edge after four-and-a-half. McMahon would allow a pair of walks and an error filled the bags for McDaniel with two down, fortunately, she got Keonna Gonzalez to flyout for the final out.
  • In the sixth the Red and White added onto their advantage as back-to-back singles from Marah Goldman and Lauren Routzahn gave DC two runners with no one out. Following a sacrifice bunt for Kaylie Renner, Emma Varella provided a sac fly to plate one making it 4-2 heading to the home-half. For the second straight frame McMahon came up with a much needed shutdown as set retired the side in order
