SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson men's outdoor track and field team collected numerous Top-10 finishes on Saturday at the Paul Kaiser Classic hosted by Shippensburg University in the Red and White's final tune-up before next weekend's Centennial Conference Championships.
Sprints
The Devils sent three athletes to the track for the 100m. The group was led by
Franklyn Akabi-During who nabbed ninth with a time of 10.94, followed by
Darian Crim (19th - 11.06) and
William O'Connor (36th - 11.39). The 110m hurdles was where Brendan Regan and
Josh Penny claimed 23rd (16.91) and 33rd (26.48) respectively.
Akabi-During paced a large contingent of Red and White during the 200m as he hit the line at 21.67 for second. O'Connor (41st - 23.75),
Matthew Greenley (65th - 24.60),
Sean Harris (73rd - 25.14) and
Tim Gross (80th - 25.96) all were involved as well.
Two members of the Red and White finished within the Top-10 as
Trevor Richwine and Crim crossed at 49.00 (6th) and 49.85 (9th). The duo of
Jeremy Sallade (14th - 50.61) and
Owen Buroker (18th - 51.43) found themselves inside the Top-20. Harris and Gross also were involved taking 34th (54.92) and 41st (56.73). With hurdles added to the mix
Benjamin Dench clocked in at 1:05.22 for 12th.
Distance
The 800m saw Dickinson send a large group to the track with
Nolan Meincke pacing the group in fifth at 1:56.08, followed by
James Masterson (11th - 1:58.24),
Matthew Gareau (2:00.26),
Amos Liles (26th - 2:00.57),
Tyler Erdmann (66th - 2:09.91),
Evan Feldman (67th - 2:10.44) and
Max Collins (77th - 2:14.63) all joined the party as well.
A quartet of Devils took part in the 1500m as Erdmann and
Travis Knaggs finished within a second of each other claiming 30th (4:23.05) and 31st (4:24.81).
Matthew Colden was the next DC athlete to cross nabbing 36th at 4:30.19, while
Andrew Edwards seized 50th thanks to a 4:54.23.
Jack Solovey was the lone athlete from DC in the 3000m steeplechase posting a time of 13:02.85 for 26th.
Three different members of the Red and White did battle during the 5000m with
Atticus Fair pacing the trio in tenth (16:12.96), Eddie Liszka joined him in the Top-20 by claiming 18th with a 16:26.40 which edged out
Avi Ghorai in 29th (16:46.63).
Relays
Dickinson sent two teams out for the 4x400m with the unit of Feldman, Gareau, Masterson and Meincke finishing off the podium in third (3:32.83), while the other crew with Collins, Edwards, Gross and Harris taking up ninth (3:55.43).
Field
At the throwing area,
Oliver Stroka just missed the podium for the hammer nabbing fourth with a toss of 50.32m.
Damon Buchanan placed ninth during the javelin with a distance of 52.95m, followed by Penny in 39th (27.27m).

The Red Devils return to action on Friday afternoon for Day One of the Centennial Conference Championships hosted by Ursinus College.
