LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson men's track and field team competed in the Coach I Invite hosted by Franklin & Marshall on Saturday. The Red Devils captured multiple top five finishes, highlighted by two huge wins from senior
Trevor Richwine.
Sprints
First-year
Barrett Chalmers recorded a new PR in the 60mH Prelims with a time of 9.64, good for 14th place.
In the 60m Prelims, sophomore
Franklyn Akabi-During notched a fantastic first-place win with a strong time of 6.89. Later in the afternoon, he competed in finals and tallied an incredible 6.84 finish for first-place and a new No. 12 time in all of Division III.
The 200m featured
Jason Hollinger nabbing a seventh place finish in 23.65, a new PR. Chalmers also competed and recorded a new PR, finishing in 25.12 for 49th place.
Senior
Trevor Richwine had a strong performance in the 400m, placing first overall in 49.88, the No. 52 time in Division III. Sophomore
Darian Crim followed closely in second in 50.08, tallying the new No. 67 time in Division III. In fifth place was
Jack Shronk's great 51.76 finish.
James Masterson and
Matthew Gareau went back-to-back in 7th and 8th, running times of 51.99 and 52.23 respectively.
Distance
Richwine nabbed another great first-place finish in the 800m, running a 1:55.08. The time is currently the 26th best in Division III. In fifth place was Masterson, running a season-best time of 1:57.53. Also with a season-best performance was senior Gareau with an eighth place 1:59.78 run.
In the 5000m, Red Devils three back-to-back-to-back finishes. First-year
Jacob Sokatch led the pack with his 12th place, 16:35.84 finish, with sophomore
Andrew Edwards following with a 16:42.87 run. Finishing 14th was junior
Mason Macek with a time of 16:47.06.
Junior
Nathan Caldwell had a great showing in the 1 mile, finishing second overall in 4:28.45. Sophomore
Avi Ghorai had a strong fifth place finish, running a 4:29.49.
The Red Devils showed out in the 3000m, taking two of the top-three spots. Sophomore
Luke Knestout picked up a great second place finish, tallying a time of 8:45.89 for a new PR. Behind him was senior
Alexander Kane, running a great 8:51.17 for a new season best. In ninth place was
Edward Liszka with a time of 9:23.86.
Field
Sophomore
Oliver Stroka competed in the weight throw, recording a strong second place finish with a 15.80m toss.
Relays
The 4x400m featured the A relay, Richwine, Akabi-During, Masterson, and Crim, finishing first overall. The squad recorded a quick 3:23.62 finish which is the 28th fastest time in Division III. The B Relay,
Owen Seveland, Gareau,
Walker Crochet, and
Amos Liles, placed fourth overall with a time of 3:34.19.
