CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swim team hosted the Gettysburg College Bullets for a dual meet at the Clarke Aquatic Center on Friday evening. Despite overall successes and event wins, the Red Devils narrowly fell 161-101.
Individual Events
- In the 200 Free, senior Andrew Kelley took first place with a strong 1:47.27 finish.
- Senior James Wright took second in the 100 Back, swimming a 53.08. Not far behind was Paul Knecht in fourth, finishing in 55.54.
- The Red Devils continued in the 100 Breast with Lukas Nier winning overall with a strong 59.99 finish, a new collegiate best. In third was Henry Lease with a 1:02.95 outing.
- The 200 Fly featured Paul Florio in second and Damon Buchanan in third, swimming times of 2:01.69 and 2:05.71 respectively.
- Samson Qu picked up another first place win in the 50 Free, finishing the race in 21.16.
- Taking third in the 100 Free was Kelley, touching the wall in 48.46. In fourth was Lukas Nier with a 49.40 swim.
- Wright had another top finish in the 200 Back, taking second and finishing in 1:57.20.
- In the 200 Breast, Florio finished second with a time of 2:18.23. Behind him in third was Henry Lease, swimming a strong 2:18.30 time.
- The 500 Free featured Buchanan's great second place finish, swimming a 4:56.70.
- In the 100 Fly, Qu picked up another victory with a 49.80 finish, just 0.06 behind his PR.
- The 200 IM tallied another second place finish for Wright, swimming a time of 1:59.70.
Relays
- The 200 Medley Relay team of Wright, Nier, Qu, and Engel won the event with a strong 1:35.59 finish.
- Finishing the night was the 200 Free Relay, where Engel, Nier, Kelley, and Qu finished second in 1:26.18.

The next challenge for the Devils is the Centennial Conference Championships from February 19-22. Events will be hosted in Lancaster, Pa. at the Kunkel Aquatic Center.
