Welcome to Carlisle: Englebrook Joins Dickinson Baseball Coaching Staff

CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson College baseball head coach Craig Hanson has announced the addition of Evan Englebrook as an assistant coach, bringing to Carlisle an extensive background that includes more than a decade of professional playing experience and four years as a collegiate pitching coach.

"We are thrilled to welcome Evan to our Dickinson Baseball coaching staff!" said Dickinson head coach Craig Hanson. "He brings with him a wealth of experience, both as a player and as a pitching coach. His track record of success in professional baseball and as a pitching coach really stood out during the hiring process. We are excited to have him begin work with our staff, and to assist with the recruitment of future Red Devil Baseball players."

Englebrook most recently served as the pitching coach at Division II Shippensburg University from 2024 through 2026, where he played a key role in the development of one of the top pitching staffs in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference.

During his time with the Raiders, Englebrook mentored Jaxon Dalena to First Team All-PSAC and Pitcher of the Year honors in 2025. Dalena was later selected in the sixth round of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft by the San Diego Padres, becoming the first NCAA Division II player selected that year. Englebrook also helped Jackie Robinson earn Second Team All-Conference recognition and an All-Atlantic Region nomination.

Before returning to Shippensburg as a coach, Englebrook spent two seasons as the pitching coach at Hood College from 2022 through 2024. While with the Blazers, he coached Joe Alexander to consecutive First Team All-Conference selections in 2023 and 2024, with Alexander earning Pitcher of the Year honors in 2024. He also helped develop Dutch DeProspero into a Second Team All-Conference selection that season.

Englebrook has supplemented his collegiate coaching work with nearly a decade of private instruction, working with youth, high school and collegiate athletes on pitching mechanics, video analysis and individualized development. His training background includes the use of Rapsodo and Edgertronic technology, along with certifications in Driveline Pitch Design and Driveline Foundations of Pitching.

His coaching career follows an extensive professional playing career that began after an All-American collegiate career at Shippensburg.

Englebrook was selected by the Houston Astros in the eighth round of the 2004 MLB Draft and spent seven seasons in the organization. He progressed from Short-A Tri-City through Triple-A Round Rock, while also spending four seasons with Double-A Corpus Christi. Englebrook competed in the Arizona Fall League in 2009 and reached the Astros' 40-man roster in 2010.

He later played in the Toronto Blue Jays organization before continuing his career in independent and international baseball with the Lancaster Barnstormers, Bridgeport Bluefish, Camden Riversharks, Fargo RedHawks and Kochi Fighting Dogs in Japan. Englebrook was part of Lancaster's Atlantic League championship team in 2014.

A First Team All-American at Shippensburg in 2004, Englebrook now brings a combination of professional playing experience, collegiate coaching success and pitching development expertise to the Red Devils.
