DICKINSON COLLEGE

General David Adamovage, Director of Athletic Communications

Register to Run for Steph on October 25

CARLISLE, Pa. — Lace up your sneakers and join the Dickinson community for a morning of remembrance, connection and support as the 22nd annual Run for Steph returns on Sunday, October 25. Part of Homecoming & Family Weekend, the event begins at 11 a.m. at the Durden Athletic Training Center and offers participants the choice of a 5K run or a two-mile walk. All proceeds benefit the McAndrews Fund for Athletics.

The annual gathering honors Stephanie Kreiner '03, a former Dickinson women's lacrosse player and biology major who was killed by a drunk driver in October 2004. Remembered for her enthusiasm, dedication and close relationships with classmates and teammates, Kreiner left a lasting impression on the college community. Her connections extended across athletics, the biology department and Kappa Kappa Gamma, bringing together the groups that helped establish the event in her memory.

Since its inaugural running in 2005, Run for Steph has provided an opportunity to celebrate Kreiner's life while raising awareness about the consequences of impaired driving. What began with 93 participants has developed into a longstanding Dickinson tradition, connecting generations of students, alumni, families, faculty and staff through a shared commitment to remembering Steph.

Whether you prefer to run the 5K or enjoy the two-mile walk with friends and family, October 25 offers a meaningful way to take part in Homecoming & Family Weekend. Every participant can contribute to an atmosphere of fellowship and remembrance while helping support the Red Devils through the McAndrews Fund for Athletics.

For returning alumni, the event offers another opportunity to reconnect with the community that shaped their college experience. For current students and first-time participants, it is a chance to learn about Steph's story and help carry her legacy forward. Gather your teammates, invite your family and friends, and make plans to join fellow Dickinsonians for this special Sunday tradition.
