CARLISLE, Pa. - Dickinson College Director of Athletics Celine Cunningham has announced the promotion of Alec Beatty from Associate Athletic Director to Deputy Athletic Director.
"Alec has been an invaluable member of our leadership team since the moment he arrived on campus," Cunningham said. "His experience, work ethic and attention to detail have made a real difference across our department. I'm excited to continue working alongside him as we build on the momentum of our department."
Beatty joined Dickinson Athletics in September 2024 and has quickly become a key member of the department's senior leadership team. His promotion recognizes his contributions to the daily operations of Red Devil Athletics, as well as his ongoing commitment to supporting Dickinson's student-athletes, coaches and staff.
Since arriving in Carlisle, Beatty has provided leadership across several essential areas of the department, helping oversee business operations, equipment and facilities, revenue-generating opportunities, and a range of departmental initiatives. He has also played a central role in the department's day-to-day administration and long-term strategic planning.
Beatty will continue collaborating with coaches, staff members and campus partners to strengthen departmental processes and ensure that Dickinson's athletic facilities and resources effectively serve the College's athletic programs and broader campus community. His work will remain centered on providing Dickinson's student-athletes with a high-quality experience that supports their academic, athletic, and personal development.
The promotion reflects Beatty's ability to manage multiple areas of responsibility while contributing to the department's broader vision. His background in business operations, event and facility management, and organizational planning has made him integral part of Dickinson Athletics.
Before coming to Dickinson, Beatty served as Director of Operations, Facilities and Rentals for Yale University Athletics. He previously held facilities and event-management positions at the University of Central Florida and the University of Washington.
A native of Kansas, Beatty earned a Master of Education with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership from the University of Washington. He received his bachelor's degree in political science from Macalester College, where he was a four-year member of the football program and earned AFCA Division III All-America honors as a wide receiver.
