LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson men's track and field team started the 2026 Centennial Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday. The team had a great first day of competition, highlighted by the 4x200m Relay team breaking conference, school, and meet records and the 4x800m Relay setting a meet record.
Sprints
- Starting with the 60m Prelims, sophomore Franklyn Akabi-During took first with a 6.86 performance. Sophomore Darian Crim also qualified for finals, with a third place, 6.93 run which is a new personal-best. Also qualifying was senior Jason Hollinger with his fifth place, 7.07 finish.
- In the Heptathlon 60m, first-year Dylan Elder had a strong 8th place finish with a new personal-best time of 7.93.
Distance
- The 5000m saw sophomore Luke Knestout take fifth overall with a strong 15:08.56 finish. Junior Nathan Caldwell placed sixth overall with a time of 15:12.20.
Field
- Elder set two new personal-bests in the Heptathlon Long Jump and Shot Put, recording a 5.05m and 8.07m respectively.
- In the Weight Throw, sophomore Oliver Stroka placed second overall to set a new personal-best of 16.59m.
Relays
- Hollinger, Crim, Jack Shronk, and Akabi-During won the 4x200m Relay with an excellent 1:28.70 finish. The time breaks records for both the conference, school, and meet and is a season best.
- Also setting a meet record was the 4x800m Relay team of Matthew Gareau, Amos Liles, Michael Dooley, and Trevor Richwine with their first place, 7:45.56 win.
- The 4000m Distance Medley A Relay of Avi Ghorai, Maximus Fite, Walker Crochet, and Trevor Richwine took fifth overall with a great 10:40.42 finish.
