BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Dickinson men's track and field team sent sophomore
Franklyn Akabi-During and senior
Trevor Richwine to the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships after a fantastic season. Richwine made Dickinson history again by winning the 800m, breaking records for both the national meet, Centennial Conference, and the school. Sophomore Akabi-During qualified for the 60m and 200m and notched great performances in both events.
Day One
- Akabi-During competed in the 60m Prelims, running a strong 6.81 to take 13th overall and earn All-American honors. The time is lower than his 6.83 performance to win at conferences, but was just shy of a new personal record, a 6.75 ran last month to set school and conference records.
- The sophomore continued in the 200m where he finished seventh overall to qualify for finals with a quick time of 21.31. The time lowers his school and conference record of 21.44 set last month.
- Senior Trevor Richwine competed in prelims of the 800m, where he won his heat with a great 1:52.74 finish. The time was good for third overall and qualified him for finals the next day.
Day Two
- Richwine became a national champion for the second time, winning the 800m with an excellent time of 1:48.17. He improves on his school and conference record of 1:50.30 set last month and sets a new record for the national meet. He earned the outdoor 800m national title on May 24, 2025 with a 1:49.99 performance.
- In the 200m finals, Akabi-During finished in 21.36 to take sixth overall and earn All-American status.
