Men's Tennis Opens Up CC Play With Setback to #25 Fords

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's tennis team faced a tall test in their Centennial Conference opener on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed the 25th-ranked Fords of Haverford College to the Hays Tennis Courts. The visitors were in control from the start as they posted a 7-0 win.

The third pair of Chait Krishna and Aarush Kumar bested Sandro Buskhrikidze-Jack Weaver by a score of 6-0. Drew Allen along with his partner Eddy Chow on the two line picked up two games against Zach Miano-Alejandro Rodriguez, while the top duo of Lucas Bogle and David Daraban pushed Teo Bortan-Niki Lavu to a tiebreak where they fell 7-6 (7-0). 

Singles (Fords 6-0)
Haverford opened their lead to 3-0 with wins at five and six with Rodriguez knocking off Weaver, while Noah Wolff held off Chow both by identical 6-1, 6-1 margins. Allen playing at three took a pair of games from Kumar (6-2, 6-0), before Miano edged out Buskhrikidze in a hard fought three sets (6-1, 4-6, 6-2). At the number two spot on the ladder, Daraban and Bortan traded 6-4 wins, but Bortan secured an 11-9 super-tiebreak win. The match ended with Lavu defeating Bogle by scores of 6-4, 7-5.

Dickinson (2-9) is right back to work tomorrow in Maryland for a non-conference road contest with Goucher College. First serve is set for 1pm.
