CARLISLE, Pa. - Coming out of a very relaxing and enjoyable Spring Break trip in Myrtle Beach, the Dickinson men's golf team returned to action on Sunday afternoon competing in Day One of the Dickinson Spring Invitational at the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course. The Red and White sent all 16 golfers out on the course split up into three teams and one athlete playing for himself. Thanks to strong efforts from two of the teams the Devils find themselves within three and four strokes of the team lead. However,
Ryan Wheeler carded one of the low rounds of the day firing a five-under 67 to tie for the lead with Ryan Hilyard of Juniata.
"A" Team | 2nd - 281
The duo of
William Griffith and
Michael DePalma paced the squad with a pair of 69s on the 6670-yard, par 72 course.
Collin McMahon-Shea also stayed in red numbers at 71, while one in back of him was
Walter Gumbinger on even par 72.
Colin Vineberg rounded out the unit at 74.
"B" Team |Â 3rd - 282
After Wheeler's low of 67, both
Vincent Carr and
Luke Vance ended the day with 71. Landon Mausser and
Jake Goldberg finished within one shot of each other posting 73 and 74 respectively.
"C" Team | T-10th - 308
Jack Poitras headed up the team with a two-over 74. The trio of
Erik Schneider,
Carl Williams and
Sam Sieminski went 77, 78, 79.
Rocco Mastrangelo capped off the lineup at 84.
Individual
Brendan Doyle will go into his second round looking to improve on his 90.
