Griffith Earns Medalist Honors as Devils Rally for Win at Home Invite

CARLISLE, Pa. - Less than 24-hours after having perfect conditions for golf, the Dickinson men's golf team returned to action on Monday afternoon at a freezing cold Carlisle Country Club for Round Two of the Dickinson Spring Invite. The Red and White rallied back from a three-stroke deficit through day one to secure the team title with a combined mark of 581 paced by medalist William Griffith who posted a two-day total of 141.

"A" Team - 1st (581)
With a strong wind and a hilly layout effecting the athletes Griffith put up one of the lowest rounds of the day with a one-over 72 to end at two-under (141). Collin McMahon-Shea joined him at 72 for a two-day total of 143, while Michael DePalma carded a 76 on the par 71 track closing out at 145. Walter Gumbinger and Colin Vineberg carded 80 (152) and 89 (163) respectively.

"B" Team - T-2nd (588)
After finding himself in a tie for the lead heading into Monday, Ryan Wheeler fired a 78 to finish on 145. Landon Mausser wrapped up his tournament with a 74 (147). Both Luke Vance and Jake Goldberg carded 77 on day two to land at 148 and 151. Vincent Carr rounded out the lineup by posting an 82 (153).

"C" Team - 10th (626)
Carl Williams and Sam Sieminski each improved from Sunday's performance to card identical 76s on day two which resulted in them finishing 154 and 155 respectively. Jack Poitras also closed out at 155 following his 81 at the Country Club. Erik Schneider posted an 87 (164), while Rocco Mastrangelo notched an 85 (169).

Individual
Brendan Doyle made the biggest move of the day jumping from 90 to 79 on Monday to finish at 169.

Up Next
The Red and White return to action on Sunday for day one of two at the Swarthmore Invitational. The even will consist of 54 holes at White Manor Country Club. Sunday will see the athletes play 18 holes, before taking part in 36 holes on Monday.
