Gophers Bring Down Devils in Baltimore

BALTIMORE - The Dickinson men's tennis was right back in action on Sunday afternoon taking on Goucher College in a non-conference clash at the Schroedl Tennis Center. The Gophers earned a 5-2 victory winning at all spots except first and second singles.

Doubles (Gophers 2-1 | Count as one point in team score)
The second duo of Eddy Chow and Drew Allen started the afternoon with a 6-1 setback against Tadeo Asprella-Ian Hewes. However, the Devils evened things right up as Sandro Buskhrikidze and his partner Jack Weaver had too much for George King-Guilherme Moraes notching the 6-3 victory. Unfortunately, it was the home side that secured the point with a 6-3 triumph over Lucas Bogle and David Daraban.

Singles (Gophers 4-2)
At the number one slot Bogle went the distance against Gabe Naftoly picking up a win in three sets (6-3, 5-7, 7-6). Down at two, Daraban knocked off Benedikt Rummel in consecutive sets going 6-2, 7-5. Asprella on the three line bested Buskhrikidze (6-1, 6-3), while Moraes needed all three sets to hold off Allen (6-7, 6-3, 6-4). Weaver pushed had in the first against Hewes, before dropping the match 7-6, 6-2. In the final match on the ladder, Chow won only two games from King in a 6-1, 6-1 setback.
