CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The DIckinson men's tennis team continued Centennial Conference action on Saturday afternoon by dropping a 6-1 decision to Washington College at the Schottland Tennis Center.
Doubles (Shoremen 3-0 | Count as one point in team score)
The match began with Tichi Chialva and Jorge Urgal Zuleta knocking off the
Lucas Bogle-
David Daraban duo by a score of 6-1 at the top of the ladder. In the two slot,
Drew Allen and
Eddy Chow were unable to bring down Demir Isiker-Petter Storberg falling by a margin of 6-2. The third pair of
Sandro Buskhrikidze and
Jack Weaver were upended 6-3 by Maxi Synnestvedt-Oskar Wroblewski.
Singles (Shoremen 5-1)
Washington opened the lead to 2-0 with a win at number five as Urgal Zuleta blanked Weaver (6-0, 6-0).
Aidan MacIntosh was able to grab one game off of Wroblewski in a 6-0, 6-1 defeat in the six slot. The home side moved within a point of victory on the four line where Storberg edged Allen 6-3, 6-2. The other three matches all went beyond two sets as Daraban and Chialva traded frames, before Chialva took the third 6-3. Buskhrikidze (3rd) went to a super tiebreak with Kohl Perkins, unfortunately, the Shoreman nabbed an 11-5 win. The last match to conclude was at number one where Bogle and Synnestvedt were even at a set apiece, before Bogle posted an 11-9 triumph in the super tiebreak.
