ORLANDO, Fla. - The Dickinson men's tennis team closed out their spring break trip in Florida on Saturday morning with a tight 4-3 win over the University of Wisconsin-Superior at the Sanlando Tennis Courts.
Doubles (DEVILS 2-1 | Count as one point in team score)
The top pair of
Lucas Bogle and
David Daraban took down Yash Chhabra and Vitor Sakakibara by a score of 6-1. UWS evened things up after second flight thanks to Mateo Abarca Pino-Sharan Kanugovi defeating
Drew Allen and
Eddy Chow 6-2. However,
Sandro Buskhrikidze and his partner
Jack Weaver secured the doubles point with a 6-4 victory against Adam Culp-Keanu Lin.Â
Singles (Tied 3-3)
Bogle secured a win at the top spot over Kanugovi (6-3, 6-2), before a spot later Daraban dropped a strongly contested 10-8 super tiebreaker to Chhabra. The third match also went the way of the Yellow Jackets with Abarca Pino taking down Allen by scores of 6-1, 6-3. On the four line, Buskhrikidze held on for a 10-7 win in the deciding super tiebreak. The remaining two matches saw each team pick a up a victory using a super tiebreak as Weaver defeated Culp 10-4 at number five, while Lin bested Chow 10-7 in the sixth flight.
