CARLISLE, Pa. - The 14th-ranked Dickinson men's lacrosse team got goals from 11 different players and used a seven-goal third quarter to power their way past the visiting McDaniel College by a score of 15-2 on Wednesday night at Biddle Field.
First Quarter
Second Quarter
- Charlie Baughan tested Wallman only 28-seconds in, but once again the goalie had the answer.
- For the second period in a row an early giveaway caused by Warren resulted in a marker for Preston Boyd.
- A couple of minutes later, Rocco Bognet forced a turnover from Jack Sabo which led to Boyd ringing the post and both Charlie Baughan and Hyatt going off target.
- The Devils defense continued to be the story of the game with Warren forcing another turnover leading to Boyd striking, while Ethan Ackerman separated Shane Whalen letting Huggins find Taner Marusa for a goal making it 4-0 heading to halftime.
Third Quarter
- Inside the opening three minutes each side struck with Marusa notching his second and Colin Fox netting the first of the day for McDaniel.
- A save for Bognet against Cash Stanton provided Walker Fiore the opportunity to make it 6-1 a minute later.
- Jack Deady and Warren continued the dominant defensive performance for the Red and White allowing Sam Bunten and Huggins to pick up a marker extending the margin to 8-1 still with six minutes to play.
- Ackerman set up another tally for Boyd, before faceoff wins by Ryan Backus and Andrew Atkins led to goals from Parker Polgar along with Drew stark pushing the gap to 10 (11-1) after 45 minutes.
Fourth Quarter
- Dickinson continued to play "make it, take it" as a win for Backus let Owen Binder score unassisted, before a victory at X from Atkins allowed Childs to make it 13-1 three minutes in.
- After Jack Broderick forced yet another turnover, Jack Schmelzer went between the pipes for Bognet and made stops against Cutter Stanton and Alex Salerni.
- At the other end of the field, Ryan Banaciski, Quinn Donovan and Eyasu Kelly all had shots go wide while Evan Giachinta and Jake Hilgartner buried the rock for a 15-1 advantage.
- Salerni posted the final goal of the game with a minute left to set the 15-2 final.
