CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Dickinson women's tennis team kicked off their Centennial Conference slate on Saturday afternoon with a tightly contested 4-3 road win over Washington College at the Schottland Tennis Center.

The day began with the second pair of
Natasha Sharnoff and
Alisa Steele blanking Juanita Arbelaez-Jess Wilde by a score of 6-0. At the three line, Gaby Coutts and Isabella Sorhegui held off
Anabel Romero Gemmell-
Loretta Szych 6-3.
Jenna Crain and
Merve Uyumazturk edged out Eva Kading-Soleil Namunyola on the spot (7-5).Â
Singles (Tied 3-3)
Crain opened singles up with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Arbelaez at the top slot. Washington made their way onto the scoreboard at the fifth flight where Sofia Sperandei knocked off
Chloe Heller by scores of 6-4, 6-2. It then became 2-2 with Sorhegui besting Sharnoff in the three spot 6-2, 6-4. Dickinson reclaimed the lead at 3-2 when Szych (6th) posted identical 6-4 set wins over Jess Wilde. Namunyola would make it all come down to one match with her 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 victory against Steele (2nd). The final match would be at number four where Uyumazturk posted a 6-4 win versus Kading in the first set. Then, in the second with it tied up at 6-6, the Devil secured the match with a 7-4 win in the tiebreak for the match.

Dickinson (8-4, 1-0 Centennial) will return to the Hays Tennis Courts on Wednesday afternoon at 4pm for a conference clash against the Owls of Bryn Mawr College.
