FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - The Dickinson women's tennis team spent their weekend competing at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regionals hosted by the University of Mary Washington.

Championship Singles Draw
Jenna Crain opened up in the Round of 64 with a 10-6 super tiebreaker defeat to Claire DeDonder from conference foe Swarthmore College. In the same round, Anabel Romero Gemmell fell 6-0, 6-3 to Natalie Kim of the host UMW. Romero Gemmell continued her tournament with a spot in the consolation bracket, but she dropped an 8-0 match to Susanna Whitehead (Washington & Lee).

Blue 2 Draw
Taylor Lopez gave it a good battle versus Lorena Saavedra (F&M), but came out on the wrong end of 6-1, 6-2 decision. In the consolation portion of the draw, she bested Madeleine Holman from the host UMW 8-2, before downing Randolph College's Mikayla Smith (8-5).

Blue 3 Draw
Madison Gerecke opened up her tournament by knocking off Gettysburg's Eden Levkov (6-4, 7-5). She the collected her second win thanks to an 8-0 blanking of Salisbury's Ridgley Lake. Her strong run ended in the semifinals falling to Katherine Yao from Saint Mary's College of Maryland by a tight margin of 8-6.

Championship Doubles Draw
The pair of Crain and Romero Gemmell gave it their all against Sarah Ladd and Susanna Whitehead (Washington & Lee) forcing a tiebreak at 7-7. Unfortunately, for the Devils, they were edged out in the extra play 8-6. The two then moved into the consolation side of the draw picking up wins of 8-0 and 8-6. Unfortunately, the draw did not continue beyond the quarterfinal round.

Blue Draw
Gerecke and Lopez battled Ruth Sun and Aubrey Zhou from Johns Hopkins University, but suffered an 8-3 setback. They then dropped into the consolation bracket and took down Roanoke's Madison Cockrell-Lyla Duff (8-3). The duo advanced all the way to the final of bracket thanks to a pair of walkover wins in the quarterfinals and semifinals. That set up a final against Sarah Reich and Mikisha Thomas from Virginia Wesleyan. In a hard fought match it was a the Marlins unit notching the 8-5 win.
