ORLANDO, Fla. - The Dickinson men's tennis started their Spring Break in Florida on Sunday afternoon feeling like they never left the state as they squared off with local foe Moravian University at the USTA National Campus. Unfortunately, for the Red and White it was the Greyhounds who left with a 5-2 win.
Doubles (Greyounds 3-0 | Count as one point in the team score)
Moravian started things off with a 6-0 win at the two line as
Drew Allen and
Eddy Chow were upended by Roman Farhad and Gavin Labbadia 6-0.
Lucas Bogle and
David Daraban claimed one game from Cris Calfat Jabra-Enzo Guarda, while in the third slot
Sandro Buskhrikidze and
Jack Weaver fell 6-3 to Ryan Burke-Joey Kelly.
Singles (Greyhounds 4-2)
Moravian made it 2-0 after the first match where Guarda defeated Bogle by scores of 6-3, 6-4. Dickinson got onto the scoreboard in the ensuing battle with Daraban knocking off Labbadia (6-3, 6-2). The next two matches saw Calfat Jabra and Farhad hold off both Allen (3rd) and Buskhrikidze (4th) in tightly contested battles. Chow collected four games off of Kelly during a 6-4, 6-0 setback at the five spot, before Weaver traded sets with Burke prior to ultimately winning a super tiebreaker 11-9.
