The Dickinson women's track and field team had a busy weekend, competing at both the Messiah Invite and the Bucknell Bison Outdoor Classic. At Messiah, the Red Devils took 10th overall with 31 points highlighted by
Amanda Hoglund's eighth-place finish in the heptathlon. Meanwhile at Bucknell,
Meghan Higgins-Haas and
Erin Olsavsky had strong finishes against fierce Division I and II competition.
Messiah Invite
Track
- In the 5000m, Red Devils Emma Lewis and Ellie Drescher went back-to-back in 15th and 16th, clocking times of 20:55.33 and 20:59.69, respectively.
- First-year Roma Diak had a great performance in the 10000m, finishing fourth overall with a time of 41:06.88. Fellow first-year Meghan McGinnis had a great outing as well, taking fifth place in 41:39.21.
- In the 100m Hurdles Heptathlon, first-year Amanda Hoglund placed seventh overall in 17.57. Not far behind was first-year Allison Edmands in ninth with a time of 18.22.
- Hoglund took another top ten finish in the 200m Heptathlon, placing ninth with a time of 29.17.
- To finish the Heptathlon, Hoglund finished seventh in the 800m with a time of 2:49.58. Edmands was behind her in eighth, putting up a time of 2:50.85. Overall, Hoglund finished eighth in the Heptathlon and Edmands placed 14th.
- First-year Angie Braun had a great showing in the 100m, placing 14th with a time of 12.83.
- Braun continued in the 200m, taking tenth place overall with a strong 26.57 performance. Chaine finished 28th overall with a time of 27.70.
- The 400m saw sophomore Emily Chaine take third place with a great 61.85 finish. First-year Annaliesa Fry finish 20th overall with a time of 67.37.
- In the 800m, junior Marley Kurey recorded a strong sixth place finish with a time of 2:23.24. Sophomore Sophia Kovalski finished 14th, recording a time of 2:27.82. In 26th place was sophomore Devon Culberson, tallying a time of 2:32.66.
- Culberson continued in the 1500m, earning seventh place with a great time of 5:05.71.
Field
- Junior Damien Labrada recorded a strong fifth-place performance in discus, tallying a mark of 34.33m.
- Labrada continued in shot put, claiming 15th overall with a 10.18m mark. Glickson finished 28th with a 9.28m toss.
- The Heptathlon started in the field for Hoglund with the high jump, tying for fifth with a mark of 1.42m. She had another great finish in the shot put, taking eighth overall with a 7.68m toss. Hoglund continued in long jump to take seventh place with a distance of 4.54m. In javelin, she took 10th with a mark of 24.99m.
- In hammer, sophomore Sarah Glickson recorded a 13th place finish with a mark of 36.03m. In 17th place was Labrada with a 34.86m toss, closely followed by senior Anna Purvis' 32.18m throw good for 24th place.
- Glickson also competed in javelin, finishing 12th overall with a 28.30m throw. Senior Erin Olsavsky took 16th place, recording a mark of 27.36m.
- The long jump featured Braun taking fifth overall with a strong 5.15m performance.
Bison Outdoor Classic
- Junior Meghan Higgins-Haas had a great seventh-place performance in the 5000m, recording a time of 17:51.74.
- Liza Barbash competed in the 5000m, taking 77th place with a 17:43.12 finish.
- On Sunday, Erin Olsavsky recorded a strong 13th place finish in the 200m. She ran a time of 24.82 which currently ranks in the Top 50 of Division III.
- She also competed in the 100m, placing 22nd overall with a time of 12.36.
