Devils Close Out Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate with Third Place Finish

CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. - The Dickinson men's golf team finished off a tremendous weekend at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate by firing a combined 289 on Sunday to end the three day event with an 870 resulting in a third place finish as the action came to a close at Paradise Point Golf Club.

Round Three - 3rd (289)
Collin McMahon-Shea put up the low round for the Red and White with a two-under 70 on the 6881-yard, par 72 course. One behind him was Michael DePalma who ended with his second straight 71 to join McMahon-Shea at 214 for the tournament tying for fifth-place. Walter Gumbinger put continued his strong play by shooting an even par 72. The duo of Landon Mauser and William Griffith each carded a 76 to wrap up their time in North Carolina.

Dylan Zhang from Centennial Conference foe Swarthmore College earned the individual win with a three round total of 209 (-7) which held off Jackson Hiller out of Oglethorpe University by one shot.

Round Two - 3rd (285)

The lowest mark of the day for the Devils came from rookie Landon Mauser as he shaved nine strokes posting a two-under 70 on the 6881-yard course. Both Michael DePalma and Collin McMahon-Shea carded identical one-under 71s, while Walter Gumbinger ended his afternoon with a 73. William Griffith fired his second straight 76 to complete the lineup for the day.

The pair of Jackson Hiller (Oglethorpe) and Dylan Zhang (Swarthmore) sit tied for the individual lead at minus-six.

Round One - 9th (296)

In the largest and most competitive field of the season to date, the Red and White were led by first-year Michael DePalma who fired an even par 72 on the 6881-yard course. One shot behind him was Collin McMahon-Shea who used a trio of birdies on the front nine to help him card 73. The duo of Walter Gumbinger and William Griffith were within a stroke of each other as well posting 75 and 76 respectively. Landon Mauser rounded out the lineup for the day at 79.

Daniel Donahue (John Carroll University) and Dylan Zhang (Swarthmore College) pace the individual leaderboard after both carded five-under 67.
