BETHLEHEM, Pa. - The Dickinson women's track and field team took on the two-day Moravian Coach Pollard Invitational on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18. The Red Devils notched multiple top finishes, including a win for
Erin Olsavsky and a silver medal performance for
Liza Barbash.
Sprints
- In the 100m Dash prelims, senior Erin Olsavsky qualified for finals with a time of 12.36 to take sixth. She went on to win in finals, posting a time of 12.11. The time ties for second in Dickinson history and is a new personal best for Olsavsky.
Distance
- On day one, sophomore Liza Barbash had a great second-place finish in the 10000m, finishing in 38:17.80. In ninth place was sophomore Jenna Kerns, recording a time of 43:39.83.
- First-year Roma Diak earned fifth place in the 5000m with a great 19:18.48 finish. Fellow first-year Meghan McGinnis had a strong 19:45.97 performance to finish tenth overall.
- The 1500m featured junior Meghan Higgins-Haas and sophomore Devon Culberson going back-to-back in 13th and 14th, recording strong times of 4:56.14 and 4:57.21, respectively.
- In the 800m, sophomore Sophia Kovalski notched a great seventh place finish with a new personal-best time of 2:23.72. Culberson placed 20th overall with a 2:32.25 performance.
Field
- Junior Damien Labrada placed sixth overall in shot put, recording a great 11.69m mark.
- Continuing in discus, Labrada took eighth overall with a 44.11m performance to qualify for championship finals. In finals, he placed 13th with a 37.38m toss.
- Labrada also competed in hammer, taking eighth place overall with a 44.11m mark.
- Olsavsky took 13th place in javelin, recording a distance of 29.75m.
- Senior Anna Purvis tallied a 26.36m in discus to finish 18th overall.
Up Next
The team returns to Shippensburg University next weekend on April 24 and 25 for the Paul Kaiser Classic. Events are set to start at 1 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
