GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson men's track and field team started the three-day Centennial Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday. The Red Devils had an amazing start, claiming several gold medals and breaking both school, meet, and stadium records.
Sprints
- Franklyn Akabi-During qualified for the 100m finals tomorrow with a 10.58 performance to take first place, setting a new stadium record. Senior Jason Hollinger also claimed a spot in finals, running a new personal best 11.01 to place sixth.
- He continued in the 200m prelims with another win, finishing in 21.42. He qualifies for finals tomorrow and breaks the Centennial Conference Championship meet and stadium record.
- Sophomore Darian Crim won the 400m prelims, qualifying for finals with a 49.05. Also qualifying was first-year Maximus Fite with a personal-best 49.87 finish. Senior Matthew Gareau took the last finals spot with his eighth place, 50.36 performance to set a new personal best as well.
Distance
- On day one, Luke Knestout was victorious in the 10,000m with a strong 31:20.42 finish. The time sets a new personal best for the sophomore and it a Top 100 time in Division III currently. Senior Alexander Kane placed ninth overall with a solid 31:46.05 performance.
- In the 3000m Steeple, junior Nate Caldwell recorded a great second place finish with a time of 9:41.84. Sophomore Atticus Fair placed fifth overall with a 10:07.65 run, and first-year Quinn Chewning posted a 10:19.76 to set a new personal best and finish eighth.
- Senior Trevor Richwine qualifies for the 800m finals tomorrow with his second place, 1:52.86 finish in prelims. Sophomore Owen Buroker also qualified, taking fourth overall setting a new personal-best time of 1:53.08. Finishing in sixth and seventh places to qualify were James Masterson and Michael Dooley, running times of 1:55.91 and 1:53.26, respectively.
Field
- Sophomore Oliver Stroka broke the school record in hammer for the third time this season with a 55.22m mark. He won the event and set a top distance in Division III this season.
Relay
- The team of Gareau, Buroker, Dooley, and Richwine won the 4x800 Relay, setting a meet and school record and season-best time of 7:39.44.
Decathlon
- First-year Dylan Elder competed in the decathlon, finishing 7th overall. On day one, he ran a new personal best in the 100 with a time of 12.24. He posted a 7.28m in shot put, and a 4.74m in long jump. On day two, he clocked a 19.32 in the 110m Hurdles, then recorded a solid third-place finish in the 400m with a new personal-best 54.42. In discus, he posted a mark of 24.27m then took fourth in high jump with a 1.50m. Elder placed second in pole vault with a great 3.40m performance, and tallied a 19.49m mark in javelin. He finished with the 1500m, setting a new season-best of 4:58.46.

The Red Devils close the 2026 Centennial Conference Championships tomorrow, Sunday May 3. Events are scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at Musselman Stadium in Gettysburg.
