LANCASTER, Pa. - Coming off a strong third-place performance at the Centennial Conference Championship last weekend the Dickinson men's track and field team has been rewarded quite well by placing 11 athletes on the All-Conference Team, including having senior
Trevor Richwine named Track Athlete of the Year.
Special Award
Richwine earned his second straight CC Track Athlete of the Year award after claiming the honor during the indoor season as well. Richwine laid down a conference championship record time of 1:48.57 during the 800m to win the event. He was also a part of two Red Devils relay titles in both 4x400m and 4x800m.
First Team
Franklyn Akabi-During earned his place with wins in the 100m (10.61) as well as 200m (21.60). He also set a meet record for the 200m in the prelims with a time of 21.42. He then joined the group of
Darian Crim,
Jason Hollinger and
Owen Seveland to win the 4x100m at 41.84.
Matthew Gareau accompanied Crim, Richwine and Seveland in toppling the field for the 4x400m by clocking in at 3:18.29. Gareau and Richwine then worked together with
Owen Buroker and
Michael Dooley to set a meet record in the 4x800m (7:39.44) which bested the competition by an astonishing eight seconds.
Luke Knestout and
Oliver Stroka both grabbed individual honors thanks to wins in the 10,000m (31:20.42) and hammer throw (55.22m) respectively.
Second Team
Nathan Caldwell claimed his spot by taking second in the 3,000m steeplechase crossing the stripe in 9:41.84.
Honorable Mention
Buroker collected his individual recognition thanks to a third place finish during the 800m clocking in at 1:54.19.
