(Westminster, Md.) - The
Dickinson College men's tennis team improved to 9-6 overall and 3-2
in the Centennial Conference, blanking McDaniel College, 9-0 on
Saturday. |
The Red Devils swept singles in straight sets, surrendering just
a combined five points in all six flights.
Junior Ross Anstaett (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier
Twp.) and Matt Wood (Chatham,
N.Y./Chatham) claimed the number one and six singles
flights, 6-0, 6-0.
Anstaett joined senior Hunter Holbrook (New York,
N.Y./Trevor Day) for an 8-4 victory in the top
doubles flight. Wood and doubles partner Andrew
Kastner (Seattle, Wash./Overlake) captured the second
flight, 8-3.
First-year Will Golinkin (Houston,
Texas/Kincade) and Pavel Hejsek (Prague,
Czech/Gymnazium Pripo) rolled to an 8-1 decision in
third singles.
Holbrook won the second singles flight 6-1, 6-0, while Golinkin
and Hejsek posted wins at three and four. Kastner won the sixth
flight 6-0, 6-1.
The Red Devils travel to Gettysburg on Wednesday to face the
Bullets at 3:30 pm.
