(Grantham, Pa.) - The Dickinson
College baseball team closed out the season with a big win at
Messiah College, posting an 11-2 victory over the Falcons. |
The Red Devils struck early, scoring five runs in the second
inning. They stretched the lead to 11-0 before Messiah answered
with a pair of runs in the bottom of the eighth.
Sophomore Sean White (Summit, N.J./Salisbury
School) earned the win, recording six strikeouts
while allowing just two hits through six innings.
Garrett Horan (Prividence, R.I./Moses
Brown) came on in relief, holding the Falcons to just
three hits, also recording six strikeouts.
The Red Devils used four hits, including back-to-back, RBI
doubles from Andrew Sterling (Houston,
Texas/Episcopal) and Horan to push across five runs
in the second inning.
Ben Sciambi (Port Monmouth,
N.J./Ridge) drove in two runs and stole two bases in
the fourth inning. James Santoro (Freehold, N.J./St.
Rose) came on to add a double in the eighth
inning.
Matt Tuneski (Waterford,
Conn./Waterford) went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two
runs scored. Sterling finiished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an
RBI.
Sciambi added two RBIs and two runs scored
while Peter Bilali (Paramus,
N.J./Paramus) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and
an RBI.
The Red Devils conclude the 2010 season 9-25 overall.
