(York, Pa.) – The Dickinson College men's tennis team suffered a heartbreaking loss to Franklin & Marshall, falling 5-4 on Saturday. The match was originally scheduled to be played at Dickinson, but the match was moved to an indoor facility in York due to threatening weather forecasts.
The Diplomats led 2-1 after doubles. First-years Ari Blask (Chevy Chase, Md./Charles E. Smith) and Dixon Blue (Westminster, Md./McDonogh) earned the point for the Devils with an 8-6 decision in the third flight.
The Diplomats secured three singles matches to earn the win, improving to 11-5 overall and 7-2 in the Centennial Conference.
Senior Ross Anstaett (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier Twp.) captured the top singles flight (6-2, 4-6, 6-3). Blue survived in the fifth flight (7-5, 5-7, 10-6) while Blask won the sixth flight in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.
The Red Devils slip to 8-8 overall and finish 3-6 in the conference.
