Box Score
(Swarthmore, Pa.) – Junior Ford Bohrmann scored with less than a minute to play in the first half to lead the #3-seeded Haverford men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over #2-seed Dickinson in the semifinals of the Centennial Conference playoffs on Saturday at Swarthmore College.
Bohrmann scored just two goals on the season, scoring both game-winners against the Red Devils this season. The junior struck with just 51 seconds remaining in the first half and the 'Fords would hold on, despite significant pressure from the Red Devils throughout the second half.
Dickinson kept the pressure on in the second half, creating a number of quality scoring chances. The Haverford defense was able to keep the Devil attack in check, however, with solid play in front of junior goalkeeper Andriy Mshanetskyy.
Haverford held a slim advantage in shots, 13-11, putting four on goal. Senior goaltender Cody Hickok (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow ) made three saves while the 'Fords saw Sam Yarosh blast a free kick from just outside the penalty area off the crossbar in the first half.
Mshanetskyy recorded just one save on the afternoon but turned in a strong performance as well as Haverford improves to 11-7 overall. They return to the Centennial Conference final for the second straight season, and will face the winner of the Swarthmore-Johns Hopkins match on Sunday.
The Red Devils drop to 12-4-2 on the year. They will now look for a possible NCAA at-large bid, announced on Monday.
