(Radnor, Pa.) – In an early season match-up of nationally-ranked teams, the #13-Dickinson College men's lacrosse team scored with six seconds remaining to post a 12-11 win at #17-ranked Cabrini College on Wednesday.

Senior Sam Greenberg (Owings Mills, Md./McDonogh) scored a game-high four goals, including the game-winner in the final minute, finding the net off an assist from classmate Ward Gruppo (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield Prep) with just six seconds on the clock. The Devils gained possession on a missed shot with 21 seconds to play. They went the length of the field to net the game-winner, improving to 2-1 on the season.

The hosts opened with five goals in the first quarter to lead 5-3 at the end of one. The Devils answered with five goals, outscoring Cabrini 5-1, to take an 8-6 lead into halftime. Greenberg tallied back-to-back goals to lead the way in the second quarter, scoring twice in a span of just 46 seconds.

The Devils later tallied a pair of goals in just 36 seconds as senior Matt Cherry (Radnor, Pa./Radnor) scored at the 8:08 mark and then assisted Gruppo with 7:32 remaining in the half. Sophomore Brian Cannon (Reisterstown, Md./Loyola Blakefield) added his second goal of the game to erase a 6-3 Cabrini lead and put Dickinson in front, 8-6, at the break.

Junior Christian Beitel (Newtown , Conn./Newtown) and Cannon traded goals and assists to keep the Devils even with Cabrini as the teams traded goals throughout the third quarter, heading into the fourth, tied, 10-10.

Greenberg gave the Devils an 11-10 edge early in the quarter, scoring just 48 seconds into the period. Cabrini netted the equalizer at the 9:46 mark and the battle was on for the final tally of the day.

The Cavaliers had a shot with time running down, but it went wide and the Devils were there to take possession. They worked the ball down the field and found Greenberg for the game-winner with just six ticks on the clock. Cabrini would claim the ensuing face-off but ran out of time.

Greenberg returned from an injury to net a game-high four goals. Senior Chip Murray (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) won 14-of-23 face-offs and controlled five ground balls on the day while junior Brandon Palladino (Basking Ridge, N.J./Ridge) picked-up four GBs.

Greg Hanley (Laurel Hollow, N.Y./Cold Spring Harbor) and Max Pawk (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley) split time on goal. Pawk made eight saves in the second half, stopping six shots in the third quarter to earn the win in the cage.

Matt Beigel scored three goals and had a pair of assists while Brian Hill tallied three goals as well to lead Cabrini (1-1). Erick Zarzecki made seven saves.

The Red Devils (2-1) return home to face Montclair State University on Saturday. Opening face-off is set for 3:00 pm.
