(Baltimore, Md.) – The Dickinson College baseball team dropped a heartbreaker at Johns Hopkins University, falling 3-2 on Tuesday afternoon.

A three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning by Aaron Borenstein proved to be the difference as senior pitcher Sean White (Summit, N.J./Salisbury School) kept the Blue Jays in check the rest of the way, allowing just three hits and no runs after the first inning.

The Devils looked to rally in the sixth inning, pushing across a pair of runs to cut the Blue Jay lead to one. Senior Tyler Rosa' (Carmel, Calif./Carmel by the Sea) led-off the inning by reaching on an error. Jordan Kaufman (Somerset, Pa./Somerset Area) drew a walk and both runners came in off the bat of Matt Tuneski (Waterford, Conn./Waterford), who reached on an error as well.

Senior Andrew Sterling (Houston, Texas/Episcopal) had another solid outing, going 4-for-5 with a triple and three stolen bases on the day. He recorded four of the Devils' six hits.

Alex Eliopoulos earned the win with a complete game effort, recording 11 strikeouts on the day for Hopkins (10-7-2, 1-0 CC).

The Red Devils slip to 11-6 and fall to 0-1 in their Centennial Conference opener. They return home to face Keuka College on Wednesday at 3:30 pm.
