Men's Tennis Blanks Green Terror 9-0

 

 

(Westminster, Md.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team posted a 9-0 shutout at McDaniel College on a chilly Tuesday afternoon in Westminster, Maryland.

 

The Red Devils rolled to a 2-0 start, claiming first and second doubles by identical 8-0 scores. Ari Blask (Chevy Chase, Md./Charles E. Smith) and John Kneisley (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) survived in the three spot, 8-6, to put the Devils up, 3-0, heading into singles.

 

Will Golinkin (Houston, Texas/Kincaid) captured the top spot (6-2, 6-0) while Chris Mueller-Wolf (Hamburg, Germany/Pennington School, N.Y.) continued to play well in the third flight, taking his match, 6-1, 6-0. The pair teamed up to win at number one doubles as well.

 

Blask went to three sets, but came out victorious, 6-3, 4-6, 1-0 (10-6), in the second singles flight. Josh Kaseff (Westport, Conn./Staples) earned the point in his first collegiate singles match, winning in the six spot, (6-0, 6-2).

 

Jon Brittin (McLean, Va./Landon) and Erik Dinardo (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) combined for the 8-0 win in the second doubles flight. Dinardo also won in the fourth singles flight (6-3, 6-1) while Brittin won at number-five (6-4, 6-1).

 

The Red Devils (2-8, 1-2 CC) return home to face Haverford College on Saturday at 1:00 pm.
