(Baltimore, Md.) – The Dickinson baseball team suffered a 10-1 loss at #12-ranked Johns Hopkins on Friday afternoon.
Mike Adams (Mount Olive, N.J./Mount Olive) had one of just two Red Devil hits on the day. He scored the lone run as Steven Haynes (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) reached on an error in the fourth inning. Sophomore Mike DeVivo (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) had the other hit, advancing to third in the third inning.
Sophomore Jacob Eterlin improved to 5-0 on the mound, going seven innings in a two-hit effort.
The Blue Jays took a 2-0 lead in the second inning and led 6-0 at the end of the sixth. Mike Deninger drove in two runs in the seventh as the Blue Jays stretched the lead to 9-0. Jeff Lynch finished the day 2-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and a double to lead the way.
Tyler Clausen-Wolf (Philadelphia, Pa./Germantown Friends) suffered the loss, but tossed four solid innings, allowing three hits while recording three strikeouts.
The Blue Jays improved to 20-2 overall and 4-0 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 9-13 overall and 0-4 in the CC. They return home for a double-header with Haverford College on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
