(Carlisle, Pa) - The Dickinson baseball team dropped a, 7-2, non-conference decision to Mt. Aloysius College on Monday afternoon. The Mounties improved to 12-5 on the season behind a complete game effort from Derrick Capiak.

The Mounties pushed across one run in the first inning. Patrick Gully reached on a single and came in to score on a sacrifice fly from Aaron Kovach. They tacked on three runs in the top of the third with the help of a two-run single from Cory Dick.

The Devils answered on the bottom of the third. Sophomore Mitch Helmandollar (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) doubled and scored on a single from Zee Crawford (Hummelstown, Pa./Lower Dauphin).

Dickinson added another in the fourth as Steven Haynes (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley) tripled and Benn Parker (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) drove him in with a single down the right field line.

Mt. Aloysius loaded the bases with one out, in the top of the sixth. Gully ran the count full and drew an RBI walk to stretch the lead to 5-2. First-year Thomas Galuchie (Upland, Calif./Claremont) came on in relief and closed out the inning, but the Mounties added one more to hold a 6-2 advantage.

Capiak continued to pitch well, facing just three batters in each of the next three innings. Mt. Aloysius capitalized on a Red Devil error to add a run in the eighth. Lucas Szymanski doubled and came in on the error to make the score, 7-2.

The Devils had some offense in the eighth as Helmandollar singled and moved to second on a passed ball and Crawford drew a two-out walk. The Mounties held as Capiak improved to 6-1 in the year with the win.

Szymanski led the Mounties at the plate, going 3-for-5 while Kovach and Dick each drove in two runs on the day.

Helmandollar finished the day 2-for-4 to lead the Devils. Dickinson falls to 9-16 overall. They return to Centennial Conference action on Tuesday, traveling to Gettysburg College for a 3:30 pm start.
