(Haveford, Pa.) - Dickinson men's tennis (3-6, 1-2 CC) suffered a 9-0 loss to 13th-ranked Haverford College (7-3, 4-0 CC) on Saturday afternoon.
The Fords secured all three doubles matches. Dickinson duo Ari Blask (Chevy Chase, Md./Charles E. Smith) and Erik Dinardo (Carlisle, Mass./Concord Carlisle) came up short 8-2 against Haverford's top team of Luis Acaba and Jacob Youse.
Sloan Millman and Matt Romei slid past Dickinson's Clark Chapman and Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) for second doubles.
Josh Kaseff (Westport, Conn./Staples) and Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) combined for an 8-3 setback against Haverford's Andy Dougherty and Devin Van Dyke.
The Fords would take each of the top four singles flights in straight sets.
Acaba bested Blask (6-1, 6-2) in the first singles flight. Romei defeated Chapman (6-2,6-3) in second singles, and Youse worked past Kaplan (6-2, 6-3) in third singles to secure the win.
The fourth flight match took similar form, with Dougherty surging past Dinardo 6-3, 6-1).
Fifth and sixth singles went to tiebreaks.
Haverford's John Cummings got the best of Josh Kaseff in the fifth singles tiebreak 7-4 to post the 6-4, 7-6 decision.
Dickinson's John Kneisley put together a strong showing in the sixth singles flight, coming up just short 10-4 after a 6-2, 2-6 seesaw battle.
The Red Devils return to the court Sunday afternoon and welcome Ursinus to Carlisle. First serves are set for 1:00 pm, at the Hayes Tennis Courts.
