Men's Tennis Rolls Past Bullets 8-1

 

(Gettysburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team took another step closer to a Centennial Conference playoff berth with a solid, 8-1 victory at Gettysburg College on Tuesday.

The Red Devils suffered their only setback of the match at number-one doubles as Scott Johnson and Dave Musser edged Erik Dinardo (Carlisle, Mass./Concord-Carlisle) and Clark Chapman (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery), 9-7.

The Red Devils posted identical 8-3 decisions in the second and third flights. Josh Kaseff (Westport, Conn./Staples) and Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) earned the win at two, while Ari Blask (Chevy Chase, Md./Charles E. Smith) and Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham) claimed the third flight.

Blask topped Musser, (6-3, 6-3), in the top singles flight. Chapman captured a straight set win in the second flight, (6-0, 6-2).

Dinardo and Kaplan posted straight set wins in the third and fourth singles flights. John Kneisley (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) won at number five, and Kaseff won a (6-2, 6-2) decision in the sixth flight.

The Red Devils are home again on Saturday, hosting Washington College at 1:00 pm.
