(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team earned four spots in the 2015 All-Centennial Conference Men's Soccer Team, announced on Thursday afternoon. The Red Devils had two players named to the First-team and two earn Second-team recognition.
Senior Alfred Hylton-Dei (Geneva, Switzerland/Mercersburg Academy, Pa.) leads the way, making his second straight appearance on the All-CC, First-team. The senior forward has had an outstanding season to cap a brilliant career as a Red Devil. He ranks third in the conference in points and goals, and fourth in assists. Hylton-Dei has tallied career-bests of nine goals and seven assists, leading the team with 25 points.
Hylton-Dei ranks in the top 10 in program history with 63 points, ranking 11th with 23 goals scored and fifth all-time with 17 assists in his career. His seven assists rank him sixth on the single season list as well. The seventh was the biggest as he served a beautiful ball on a corner to record the assist on the game-winner at #4-ranked Franklin & Marshall in the regular season finale.
Senior back Ned Wagner (Washington, D.C./Upper Canada College) also makes his second straight appearance on the squad, moving up to the First-team after garnering Second-team honors last fall. He moved into a starting role as a sophomore and has anchored the defense from a center back position ever since. The Red Devils have posted seven shutouts this season, finishing strong with back-to-back clean slates against nationally-ranked F&M in the regular season finale and conference semifinals.
Wagner and the Red Devils have recorded 32 shutouts over the past four seasons, twice coming within one of the season record, blanking opponents nine times in 2012 and 2013. This season, Dickinson ranks second in the CC with a remarkable, 0.86 goals-against-average, while holding opponents to just 17 goals on the year.
Sophomore Chris Pollock (Salem, Va./North Cross) was named to the Second-team in the midfield, following another strong season. The sophomore playmaker was the Devils' quarterback, controlling the field with exceptional ball skills and consistent, patient play. He tallied just one assist on the year, but created numerous scoring opportunities from the midfield. The Red Devils are currently third in the conference with 36 goals on the season, recording 24 assists.
Junior goalkeeper Jeremy Palcan (Park Ridge, Ill./St. Sebastian's Prep) was also named to the Second-team this season, while also earning a spot on the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll. Palcan started 16 games in the nets this fall, recording seven shutouts behind a 9-4-3 record. He leads the conference in save percentage at .856, recording 83 saves while allowing just 14 goals. He ranks fourth in goals-against-average, giving up just 0.83 goals per game on the year. During his career, has earned 27 starts in the nets, posting a 0.91 career goals-against-average and a .829 save percentage.
Also honored was junior James Bundren (Herdon, Va./Oakton), who was named to the 2015 All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
The Red Devils are currently 12-4-3 overall, earning the program's fifth consecutive bid to the NCAA Tournament. Dickinson has made an appearance in the Centennial Conference playoffs in eight of the past nine seasons. They are set to travel to Lycoming College this weekend for the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Red Devils will face Rowan University at 1:30 pm in Williamsport. Dickinson is currently ranked 21st on the NSCAA national poll and earned the #24 spot in the D3soccer.com weekly rankings.
