(Lake Myrtle, Fla.) – The Dickinson baseball team suffered an 11-0 setback to New Jersey City University on Monday in Auburndale, Florida.

Eric Giordano drove in a run in the first inning, and added two RBIs with a triple in the third. He came in to score when Alex Weinstein doubled to left center. The Knights loaded the bases in the fifth and Weinstein doubled in two more RBIs as they built a 7-0 lead.

Giordano sacrificed in a run and Weinstein singled in two more, giving him five RBIs and the Knights a 10-0 advantage in the sixth. A lead-off walk led to another run in the seventh for the final of 11-0.

Michael Martucci went 4-for-4, driving in the final run and scoring three times on the day. Andrew Niech went 3-for-4 with three runs scored while Giordano drove in four runs.

Benn Parker (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) led-off with a double in the first and moved to third on a balk, but was stranded. Sam Wachs (Severna Park, Md./Severn School) singled in the fifth.

The Red Devils slip to 1-4 on the season. They return to action on Wednesday, facing Coe College at 9:10 am.
