(Auburndale, Fla.) – The Dickinson men's baseball team slipped to 1-5 on the season, falling to Coe College, 10-5, on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Red Devils struck early, scoring two runs in the first inning. Sophomore Ryan Dolan (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Germantown Academy) led-off the game with a single and moved to third on a stolen base and an error off the bat of Mitch Helmandollar (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro). Dolan scored on a ground out and Helmandollar came around on a double to left center by senior Steven Haynes (Mt. Kisco, N.Y./Horace Greeley).
 
Coe countered with two runs in the bottom of the first to tie the game. Cole Tomlinson tripled to lead-off the third inning and Jory Heckenberg tallied his second double of the day. He came in to score on a Dickinson error as Michael Redmond reached after attempting to move Heckenberg with a sacrifice bunt. Redmond stole second and would come in to score on a sacrifice fly to put the Tigers up, 5-2.
 
Rick Hopkins (Egg Harbor Twp., N.J./Holy Spirit) reached on a walk and scored an unearned run on an RBI single from first-year Austin Sumners (W. Trenton, N.J./Pennington School). The Tigers tacked on another in the bottom of the fourth and Heckenberg drove in a pair in the sixth to stretch the lead to 8-3.
 
Dickinson capitalized on Tiger errors to scored lone runs in the seventh and ninth innings. Matt Primavera (Erdenheim, Pa./Chestnut Hill Academy) singled and stole a base to put himself in scoring position. Benn Parker (Newtown, Pa./Council Rock North) reached on an error and came around for the Devils' final run.
 
Ben Jacobson drove in two runs in the eighth for the final of 10-5. Heckenberg led the way, going 4-for-5 with five RBIs.
 
Primavera, Dolan and Sumners each had two hits for the Red Devils. Phil Werner (Potomac, Md./St. Andrew's) drove in a pair of runs.
 
The Red Devils slip to 1-5 on the season. They face SUNY Brockport in a double-header on Thursday and close out the week with a twin-bill against Husson on Friday.
