Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson field hockey team celebrated Senior Day with a big win, posting an 8-0 victory over visiting Bryn Mawr College on Saturday. The Red Devils honored seniors Merritt Davis (Baltimore, Md./Garrison Forest) and Catherine Perlmutter (Blue Bell, Pa./Germantown Academy) before the game, recognizing the outstanding contributions of these two remarkable student-athletes.
Davis tied the school record for all-time assists on the day as first-year Alana Platukus (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Pittston Area) netted her first collegiate goal, redirecting a shot on a penalty corner to give Davis the 21st of her career.
Perlmutter tallied a goal in the second half to become the program's all-time leading goal scorer with the 46th of her career. Perlmutter is also the program record holder with 113 career points.
The Red Devils wasted little time putting a goal on the board as junior Danielle Schwab (Highland, Md./River Hill) found the back of the cage, just 37 seconds into the contest.
Sophomore Chelsea Kramer (New Vernon, N.J./Morristown Beard) immediately went to work, recording a natural hat-trick with three straight goals to give the Red Devils a 4-0 advantage. She tipped in a blast off the stick of junior Kim Monteferante (Putnam Valley, N.Y./Lakeland) in the 13th minute and finished an assist from Delaney Ahn (Macungie, Pa./Emmaus) just over two minutes later.
Kramer redirected a cross from Lily Mott (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) with just over 17 minutes remaining. That marks back-to-back natural hat-tricks for the Red Devils as Perlmutter completed the task in Friday's win over Lynchburg College.
The Devils stretched the margin to 5-0 as Platukus finished the Davis assist with four minutes to play in the half.
Perlmutter tallied her record-setting goal with 31:40 remaining in the game, knocking home an assist from first-year Mia Scott (Mount Laurel, N.J./Holy Cross).
Sophomore Julia Murphy (Greenwood Village, Colo./Colorado Academy) closed out the game with back-to-back assists in the span of just one minute, four seconds. She fed Platukus for her second of the game and then assisted first-year Olivia Young (Orrtanna, Pa./Gettysburg) for the first goal of her collegiate career.
Freddie Bancroft (Old Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) and first-year Heather Meeder (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Academy) split time between the pipes but did not face a shot on goal.
The Red Devils held a 28-0 advantage in shots and an 8-0 edge in penalty corners. Angela Meng made some strong plays in goal for Bryn Mawr, finishing with 10 saves on the day.
The Red Devils improve to 8-4 overall and 4-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Washington College next Saturday for a 4:00 pm start.
