(Ewing, N.J.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team has faced some tough weather conditions and faced a tough College of New Jersey team in the season opener on Saturday, falling 9-0.
Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) played a strong match in the fourth singles flight, playing to a tie-break in the first set before falling (7-6 (7-5), 6-2).
He teamed with classmate Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) in second doubles, playing to an 8-4 setback. Frank played two tough sets in the third singles flight, but fell (6-4, 6-4).
Senior Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) played to a 7-5 first set in the top flight, but lost (7-5, 6-2).
The Red Devils next competition is set for March 14th in Hilton Head, S.C., where they will face Ramapo College.
