Box Score (Chestertown, Md.) – Seniors Brandon Angradi (Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley) and Ted Hinnenkamp (York, Pa./York Suburban) combined for 33 of Dickinson's 40 points in the second half to lead the Red Devil men's basketball team to a 69-62 win at Washington College.
Angradi hit five three-pointers for a game-high 23 points while Hinnenkamp went 8-for-9 from the line, scoring 22 points and controlling eight rebounds.
Washington started off with a 6-2 lead before the Red Devils answered with the return of Justus Melton (Charlotte, N.C./Covenant Day) and a three-pointer from Angradi to pull in front, 13-6.
First-year Mike Hinckley (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy) converted a three-point play to give Dickinson a 21-10 advantage, with 6:56 remaining in the first half.
Kevin McCormick hit a three-pointer and the Shoremen cut the deficit to five at the 2:26 mark. Angradi hit a three-pointer and Melton gave the Devils a 10 point lead with just over a minute to play in the half.
Washington battled back to pull within five at the break. Dave Knox completed a three-point play to make the score 29-24 at halftime.
A pair of Angradi three's stretched the lead to 35-24. He hit another at the 17:29 mark to give the Devils a 12 point lead.
Five straight points from James Drury cut the margin to just four, and Kaiden Williams drove in for a lay-up to make the deficit just three, with 9:26 on the clock.
HInnenkamp scored twice for a seven point lead, but Washington hit a pair of three-pointers and Tas Dixon pulled down a rebound and scored to put the hosts in front, 50-49.
The teams traded leads before the Devils strung together three straight field-goals and capitalized on a missed free throw to go up by seven with 2:13 remaining in regulation.
Drury led Washington back to within a basket but four straight free throws from Hinnenkamp secured the win for Dickinson.
Melton finished with nine points and eight rebounds, dishing out three assists. Jule Brown (Ardmore, Pa./Lower Merion) handed out four assists and went 3-for-4 from the line.
Drury tallied 19 points, hitting 10-of-14 free throws to lead Washington (3-18, 1-13 CC).
The Red Devils improve to 8-12 overall and 7-6 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Muhlenberg College on Monday night at 8:00 pm.
