(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson men's tennis team turned back visiting Gettysburg, 7-2, on Tuesday afternoon. The Red Devils jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles and claimed 5-of-6 singles flights on the day.
Senior Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) had another strong outing, winning the top singles flight (6-0, 6-1) and joining classmate Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) for an 8-1 decision in the second doubles position.
Davis rolled in the second to claim fourth singles (6-4, 6-0) while Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Regional) captured the win at number three (6-1, 6-3). Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) earned the point at number six (6-4, 4-6, 10-8) and partnered with Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) for an 8-2 decision in third doubles.
First-year Derek Chen (Cranberry Township, Pa./Cranbury Township) posted a (6-3, 6-2) win the fifth singles flight.
Gettysburg falls to 6-7 overall and 1-4 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils improve to 4-6 and 3-2 in the CC. Dickinson is scheduled to host Washington College on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 pm.
