(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team split singles but captured all three doubles matches to post a 6-3 win over visiting Washington College, who came in ranked 15th in the Atlantic South Region.
Senior Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) overcame a tough first set and got stronger throughout the match to claim the top singles flight (2-6, 6-3, 6-1). He partnered with classmate Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) for the win in the second doubles spot, 8-2.
Junior Clark Chapman (Princeton, N.J./Montgomery) earned the point in third singles, winning a (6-2, 6-2) decision while first-year Derek Chen (Cranberry Township, Pa./Cranberry Township) posted the same score to win in the fifth singles position.
Chapman earned another point, playing with classmate Steven Kaplan (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) for a win at number one doubles, 8-2. Shawn Diniz (Upper Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands) and Samuel Loring (New York, N.Y./Blair Academy) won the third doubles flight, 8-6.
The Red Devils improve to 5-6 overall and 4-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Swarthmore College next Saturday for a 1:00 pm start.
