(Swarthmore, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team suffered a 7-2 setback at Swarthmore College on Saturday afternoon. The Garnet, ranked 22nd-nationally and third in the Atlantic South Region took a 2-1 lead in doubles and claimed five singles flights to improve to 12-5 overall and 7-0 in the Centennial Conference.
Seniors Evan Davis (Westport, Conn./Staples) and Joey Frank (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Boca Raton) won the second doubles flight, 8-3, for the Devils' first point. Davis overcome a tough second set to claim the other point in the fourth singles flight (6-3, 0-6, 1-0 (12-10)).
Frank battled to a (6-3, 6-3) loss in the top singles flight, facing Mark Fallati, ranked #5 in the region.
The Red Devils slip to 5-7 overall and 4-3 in the Centennial Conference. They return home for a key conference match-up on Wednesday, hosting Muhlenberg College at 4:00 pm.
