Box Score

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's lacrosse team took an early lead and played a dominant second half to post a 16-4 win over visiting Muhlenberg College on Wednesday afternoon at Biddle Field.

Brad D'Alessandro capitalized on an early penalty, scoring an extra-man goal to put the Mules on the board at the 13:28 mark.

The Red Devils countered less than a minute later with a goal from sophomore Dylan Maher (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield), before senior Rob Kendall (Sewickley, Pa./Sewickley) scored off assists from Mike Cherry (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Radnor) and John Lockwood (Bloomfield Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) to put the Devils up, 3-1.

Senior Chris Menard (South Hadley, Mass./South Hadley) made it 4-1, scoring with just over a minute to play in the first quarter. Chase Phillips (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello) and Tyler Llewellyn (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) traded goals with the Mules before Menard closed out the quarter again, scoring a man-up goal with an assist from Kendall to end the half, 7-3.

Dickinson held the Mules scoreless in the third quarter, until Joey Hess snuck one in with just one second remaining. That came after the Devils took control of the quarter, scoring five straight to lead, 12-4, heading into the fourth.

Tyler Strods (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) and Menard each tallied a goal and an assist in the third quarter run. Strods added another assist in the fourth, finding Kendall on an extra-man opportunity.

First-year Brodie Phillips (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) started off the run with Connor Haab (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal) and Bobby Hartwick (Brookville, Md./Georgetown Prep) closing out the scoring with goals in span of just seven seconds.

Menard and Kendall each finished with three goals and an assist while Lockwood handed out three assists on the day. Sophomore Ryan Campbell (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fairhaven) was dominant on face-offs, winning 18-of-20 and controlling seven ground balls on the afternoon. Hartwick went 2-for-2 as well.

Patrick Finneran (Garden City, N.Y./Garden City) and John Bower (Charlottesville, Va./St. Anne's Belfield) combined for seven ground balls while senior goaltender Nick Baxter (Newberry, Mass./Governor's) made eight saves.
